Anti aging serum

Anti-aging serum cosmetics have become known as one of the most advanced skin care applications for rejuvenation, wrinkles, antioxidants and for toning discoloration. Serums provide concentrated active ingredients for increased efficiency and effectiveness, generally in Hyaluronic or Aloe base. This concentrated complex allows improved effectiveness while naturally penetrating dermal layers for better results.

Anti-Aging Serum Categories

As with many skin care products that target anti-aging, serums are generally available in groups that focus on specific solutions. Today, many carry multiple benefits giving you antioxidant protection while reducing wrinkles, for instance.

  • Anti Wrinkle Products - If wrinkle creams are the best skin products we can use for wrinkles, wrinkle serum is that much better. Common active peptides and polypeptides used in wrinkles creams can be found in anti wrinkle serums, but in a concentrated formulation. Peptides, Matrixyl and Argireline, provide similar benefits as those found in Botox. Topically applied to the skin around the eyes, neck and face, anti wrinkle serums are often combined with Hyaluronic Acid for improved moisturization.
  • Antioxidants Skin Care Products - Natural oxidization creates free-radicals that damage cell membranes. This damage targets all cells and is most visibly noticed on the skin. The accumulation of free-radical damage is considered to be one of the primary causes of discoloration, sagging skin, dryness and pre-mature wrinkles. Antioxidants in serum form use Green Tea, Coffee, Idebenone and Vitamin C, primarily, as active ingredients to deeply penetrate the skin to repair damaged cells, offer future protection, and help even tone and fade discoloration.
  • Moisturization - Creams and lotions do a wonderful job offering relief to dry flaking skin. For more intensive therapy, serums provide the most concentrated treatment possible. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally occurring substance that aids cells by retaining moisture and improving cellular health. As mentioned, serums are often formulated with Aloe Vera or Aloe Juice as a base. This provides localized intensive and soothing relief for skin that has begun to tighten, has dried or is flaking or itching.

Anti aging serum cosmetics offer concentrated formulas for wrinkles, antioxidants and moisturization for increased effectiveness and benefits. Hyaluronic or Aloe bases give a rich foundation that increases hydration increase skin health and accelerated delivery of active ingredients.

Anti Aging Skin Care Ingredients

Virtually all anti aging skin care ingredients can be explained to be used in a beneficial way for your skin. So how can you choose the best natural anti aging cream with the best anti aging skin care ingredients? Tell me if this makes sense: The best natural anti aging cream should contain anti aging skin care ingredients that target the main causes of aging skin.

Forget all the other anti aging skin care ingredients with snazzy names- if a natural anti aging cream doesn't contain anti aging skin care ingredients that counter the major causes of aging, than chances are it won't do what you want it to.

There are three major causes of aging skin.

The biggest cause is loss of collagen and elastin protein. Don't fall for natural anti aging cream that claims to contain collagen and elastin protein as ingredients. Get a natural anti aging cream that contains the ingredient CynergyTK™. It's the only anti aging skin care ingredient that actually stimulates collagen and elastin production inside the body. The second cause of aging skin is loss of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid acts as the 'glue' to hold collagen and elastin fibers together. Antioxidants defend your body against free radicals and are essential anti aging skin care ingredients.

Fine Wrinkle Solution

by Mina Dimakis-Lev

If you are seeking treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, you probably don't want to take off too much time from work or an active lifestyle. That's why no-wounding treatments for facial rejuvenation offer a solution, according to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

This noninvasive approach is ideal for fine lines and skin imperfections, and eliminates the prolonged side effects and extended recovery period from traditional plastic surgery. Another example is the full-face intense pulsed light treatments, a specific type of non- surgery procedure, many patients saw dramatic improvement. All aspects of photo-damage, including wrinkling, skin texture irregularities, pore size and broken blood vessels, showed visible impovement in more than 90% of subjects with minimal downtime and no scarring.

Non-wounding lasers and intense-pulsed light sources work by targeting light energy on the underlying skin while leaving the surface of the skin harmed and intact.

Wrinkles and Liver spots are signs of aging, mature skin

by Dr Danny T. Siegenthaler

The natural aging process produces visible effects on our skin. Increased dryness, wrinkles, liver spots and other growths begin to appear, and cuts and bruises heal more slowly. These are some of the signs that indicate chronological aging is taking place. Most of these changes are a natural progression of aging, however, some changes in the skin such as growths may need to be more closely investigated to rule out pathological changes such as skin cancer. Nevertheless, most changes in the skin are natural and do not pose any health risks.

Wrinkles

Gravity is the skins worst enemy. Weakening of collagen and elastin fibres causes reduced firmness of the skin, gravity pulls at the skin and causes it to sag, this in combination with a reduction in the fatty padding of the skin inevitably causes wrinkling of the skin tissue.

Can Wrinkles Be Avoided?

Environmental factors such as over exposure to the sun, smog, cigarette smoke can all have an adverse effect on your skin. In addition, you may also have inherited weaknesses from your parents that can cause premature aging of the skin.

Despite these challenges, there are simple steps you can take to prevent wrinkles and remember - the earlier you start, the better!
  • Wear Sunscreen,
  • Always wear a hat with a wide brim when going outside remember, just because theres clouds does not mean theres no UV,
  • Dont sunbathe, and
  • Where possible, stay out of the sun between 10am to 3pm.

As we progress through our 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond, our skin requires an appropriate natural skin care regime to maintain, as well as repair, the skin. The older you are when you start to protect and care for your skin, the less effective it will be, however, it is never too late to start.

Treatments for Aging Skin

There are a multitude of drugs, chemicals and procedures on the market these days, promising you that you can have the face of a baby in your 90s. We all know where to put that However, there are many natural and totally safe methods of treating aging skin and preventing premature signs of aging and Im not just referring to your facial skin, although this is the most visible and therefore the most important to many people.

Using a natural skin care regime should apply to your entire body and not just to your face. Regularly use a clay mask to nourish your skin and remove impurities, cleanse your skin, tone it and last but not least moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.

Do not use commercially available soaps unless absolutely necessary these soaps remove the protective acid mantle of your skin and dry it out. Instead, use an exfoliant followed by a cleanser to clean your skin and leave it smooth, invigorated and with its protective acid mantel in tact.

Follow this by using a toner. Toners close open pores to prevent loss of moisture, resulting in firmer skin. The last step is to use a moisturiser. Moisturisers help to hydrate your skin, prevent loss of moisture and provide nourishment and nutrients for your skin to use in fulfilling its many functions.

Liver spots or age spots

Aging skin often develops unsightly blemishes, commonly called liver spots, which can appear on the face, neck and on the back of the hands. They are caused by the sun and accumulation of lipofuscin (pigments and/or wastes) that is derived from free radical damage of skin cells.

Liver spots, also known as lentigines or lentigos, are sharply defined, rounded, brown or black, flat patches of skin. The epidermis (top surface layer) is expanding with more pigment, developing what looks like a large freckle. They may appear as a single spot or in clusters.

Remember that your skin is an eliminatory organ and therefore it eliminates toxins from your body one reason for liver spots is that the eliminatory organs (Kidneys, Liver and Bowels) are not working as well as they should and therefore the skin takes up the slack.

Removal of these impurities can be achieved using the above described skin care regime. In addition, when showering, use a Lufa or other type of skin brush on your bodys skin. This will not only remove dead skin cells, but promote blood circulation to the skin which in turn provides the skin with nutrients carried in the blood.

Green Tea is a fantastic anti-oxidant and should be consumed regularly. Leafy green vegetables, fish such as salmon and tuna, nuts and fruits contain essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants to nourish your organs and help them perform their vital functions adequately.

It is vitally important that you not only have a good skin care regime, but you should also have a good health regime, which includes a good diet, 8 -10 glasses of water per day and a regular exercise programme. This is very important and cannot be underestimated in its positive results on keeping you looking and feeling younger for longer.

Aging Women And Body Image

Every year, Americans spend billions of dollars on products, from vitamins to face creams, to stop aging. We worry about many things such as losing our memory, teeth, eyesight, hearing, sex drive, and ability to get around. Women can have special concerns about osteoporosis (thinning bones) and menopause. As we age, staying active and involved helps us to have a positive outlook on life. A healthy diet and regular exercise can ease common conditions like arthritis and can help prevent or control heart disease and high blood pressure.

In a society that places much value on youth, a woman's body image can be affected by aging in many ways. Physical changes such as weight gain, hair loss, and wrinkles can affect a woman's self-esteem. Menopause can be a stressful time for women due to hormonal changes. Osteoporosis can lead to broken bones and fractures, affecting a woman's independence. Women can often have two stressful roles - as caregiver and caretaker - raising children and taking care of elderly parents. Women can also feel lonely and less useful as they age, leading to depression. But aging is not all gloom and doom. It can offer women new opportunities in life and a new outlook. It is important to keep a positive attitude about aging.

Concepts Of Skin Care

by Garima Jain

The concept of beauty itself has undergone such a transformation, that it is little wonder that the change has been felt in the field of cosmetology as well. The emphasis has gradually shifted from camouflage of defects, to a more comprehensive art, which involves both preventive and corrective care of the skin.

It is founded on the idea that many skin problems can be avoided by taking a few simple precautions; believing in other words, in the maxim that 'prevention is better than cure.' Attention is also being paid to the ingredients in cosmetics, to achieve the best results. Refer http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/skin-care.htm for complete skin care routine and tips.

Skin care concept #1. Growing old, Staying young

One factor that has influenced the modern approach to beauty is the human desire to delay all signs of ageing for as long as possible. And no other organ of the body reveals age as much as the skin does. For complete detail on dry skin (see http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/dry-skin-remedy.htm), for oily skin ( http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/oily-skin-remedy.htm ) , for sensitive skin ( http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/sensitive-skin-care.htm ) . Modern skin has changed all this. Today, a person whose good looks have proved durable, need not depend on heredity or a substantial bank balance. Skin care is now within the reach of everyone. All one needs is an awareness of the methods and products that are available, and relate them to individual needs.

Skin care concept #2. Moisture is Life

As knowledge about the skin and its cosmetic needs have grown, it has been found that aged and prematurely aged skins have one thing in common - a lack of moisture. A youthful skin, on the other hand, is soft and moist, proving how important moisture is to the skin. The amount of moisture that the skin holds determines its texture to a great extent - weather it is soft and smooth, or dry, rough, creepy and covered with fine lines. The skin loses moisture to the environment, when humidity is low, or is lowered by artificial means. Make your own homemade moisturizers easily learn how - http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/homemade-moisturizer.htm

Skin care concept #3. Essential 4-step Skin care routine

Learn it here http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/skin-step.htm

Skin care concept #4. Prevention is better than Cure

Between prevention and corrective care, the former is much simpler and less time-consuming. Corrective skin-care, of course, spells hope for people with specific problems that detract from beauty. With preventive care, the earlier you start, the better and longer lasting are the results. The texture of one skin is different form another and so are its other characteristics. Get all information on skin types at http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/skin-type.htm. Therefore, its needs are also different.

For the detail and depth knowledge of all skin problems and their treatments refer http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com/skin-disorders.htm. Cosmetics Diary - http://www.cosmeticsdiary.com is comprehensive guide to skin care and skin disorders information.

5 Myths About Protecting Yourself from Skin Cancer

by Emily Clark

Sara spends much of her summer near the beach. She lives in a
mild climate and is very athletic. She loves to swim, bike and
play games outdoors. Sara knows the dangers of the sun and so she
opts for tanning salons to get her 'golden glow' while being sure
to apply sunscreen every day before heading out.

Joseph lives in a cooler, northern climate. The summers can be
very humid, but most of the year is mild or even below freezing
during the harshest winter months. The beach has never been much
of a draw for him and he spends most of his time doing indoor
activities or at his job. Joseph doesn't worry about sunscreen
and only had one sunburn that he can remember and that was when
he was a child.

--------------------

Which of these examples do you most associate yourself with? Did
you know that Sara and Joseph are both at risk of developing skin
cancer? We have all heard the warnings about the dangers of sun
exposure. We know all about the importance of wearing sunscreen
and hats. But are YOU protected from skin cancer? Consider these
myths and facts:

MYTH ONE: Tanning Beds are Safer than the Sun

20 minutes of exposure in a tanning bed is roughly equivalent to
four hours in the sun. Although sun beds use UVA rather than UVB
rays, 'The Skin Cancer Answer' states that "UV-A penetrates more
deeply into the skin than UV-B, can cause skin cancer, and may
suppress the immune system."

MYTH TWO: Wearing Sunscreen at the Beach is Protection

85 percent of UV rays can even make it through on cloudy days.
That means you are equally at risk in the car, walking the dog or
letting your children out to play at any time of year - even when
you're not at the beach. Of course, you are usually less attired
at the beach and so covering up is recommended even when wearing
sunscreen. Sunscreen also wears off with sweat and water and
should always be applied every two hours or after getting wet.

MYTH THREE: Taking Care Of Your Skin Now Will Protect You

Sadly, skin cancer can take 20 or more years to develop. The Skin
Cancer Foundation states that most people receive about 80
percent of their lifetime sun exposure before the age of 18.
Just one blistering sunburn in childhood is estimated to double
the risk of melanoma later in life. Taking better care now will
reduce the risk, but not eliminate the damage already done.

MYTH FOUR: Having a Tan Means You're More Protected

Dark skinned individuals are less likely to develop cancer, but
tanned skin is actually damaged skin. Repeated tanning injures
the skin and increases the risk of skin cancer.

MYTH FIVE: You Can't get Burned on Overcast Days

Just because the sun is hidden by some cloud does not mean that
you don't need protection from the harmful effects of the suns rays.

So how do you plan to protect your family this year? Some
suggestions are to limit exposure to the sun - especially for
infants. Examine your skin for early signs of damage. Use a
sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher and apply it at least 30 minutes
before exposure and every two hours after that. Teach your
children good safety habits and be sure you and they are covered
up when outdoors. Have fun and be safe.
